Bruce started in the aerospace industry having worked for Rockwell Science Center, Hughes Aircraft
Company, and Raytheon.  Bruce’s first introduction to Optical Storage began with Pioneer Video where
Bruce spent 2 years in Japan doing Laserdisc mastering at the Pioneer Research Facility.  Bruce
came back to Long Beach, CA and set up the mastering startup for Pioneer.  Bruce was also involved
with Technicolor’s first mastering facility as the mastering engineer and developed it into a world
class mastering facility employing statistical process control techniques and a training program that
provided a sustained world class level of productivity.

For new format development, Bruce had created revolutionary thin film digital trading cards for
Upperdeck in 1996 by manufacturing CD's without injection molding.  Instead it relied on a roll to roll
printing process that was 20x faster than molding.  Bruce also started the mastering division at Kodak
and developed the CD-PROM format that was used for its Picture CD program.  Bruce holds 6 patents
on this hybrid prerecorded/recordable format.  The CD-R format with prerecorded information that
allowed CD’s with data to be pressed yet allow a recordable area for mass customization.
